Similar to my own mind! As a kid, I imagined the 4Kids characters as actors just doing their job, despite knowing they were fictional. This carried over into my watching of RWBY- except the killed-off characters had expired contracts, and they help out behind-the-scenes during episode filming (but Ozpin has voice work to do, as he's kinda fused with a 14-year-old boy voiced by Aaron Dismuke).
